This video describes the paper by Fred Gage's group in which adult stem cells were demonstrated to migrate into CNS tissue and contribute to chimeric microglia and astrocyte cells but not endothelium. This supports the possibility that stem cells may cross the blood brain barrier in absence of inflammation.
