This patent covers the monitoring of numerous genes as a marker of hematopoietic stem cells proliferation, differentiation, and/or induction into apoptosis. This patent is useful for screening of compounds for potential hematopoietic modulatory activity, as well as in vivo assessment of drugs. Particularly, in clinical trials it is better if some of these "biomarkers" can be prognostic of upcoming hematopoeitic suppression before the actual suppression occurs.
