This is a composition of matter patent for a receptor that seems to be involved in hematopoietic stem cell expansion. The invention discloses a novel gene, HGFIN, which encodes a protein receptor that is involved in the regulation of hematopoietic proliferation and differentiation, and may act as a negative regulator of the Id2 protein.
