This patent provides various frequencies of light, and ways of administering light so as to stimulate proliferation and differentiation of the stem cell that is responsible for hair growth. It will be interesting to see if these methods and devices provided can also stimulate other types of stem cells. The use of light may also be beneficial for stimulating proliferation of cancer stem cells temporarily and in a localized manner, so as to sensitize them to drugs or therapies that selectively kill proliferating cells.
