The bone morphogenic proteins (BMPs) are able to stimulate various regenerative capabilities, including in the hematopoietic system, and especially in cartilage and bone.
This patent teaches that BMP-11 is able to increase survival of neurons both in vitro and in vivo.  This patent is useful for stimulation of neuronal stem cells, as well as for culture of neurons generated from stem cells for implantation.
