This is basically the patent that covers how to generate neurons from embryonic stem cells. Of course the various composition of matter patents on embryonic stem cells (5,843,780, 6,200,806, 7,029,913) have to be in-licensed to use this invention. The invention has one broad independent claim which covers a method of differentiating human embryonic stem cells into neurons. The method basically involves forming embryonoid bodies, deaggregating embryoid bodies, culturing the deaggregated cells as a monolayer, and then adding various differentiation inducing stimuli.
