This patent teachs ways of overcoming neutropenia by administration of committed stem cells that differentiate into the neutrophil lineage. This work has the potential to be very beneficial in nuclear accidents where a quick supply of neutrophils is needed. The biggest barrier is whether allogeneic neutrophil committed stem cells may be used or whether the stem cells strictly have to be autologous.
