This patent covers a small molecular weight family of compounds that directly stimulate hematopoietic stem cell proliferation but at the same time have immune augmentative effects. Such compounds are especially useful after bone marrow transplantation for leukemias or cancers since post transplantation it is not only enough to have restored hematopoiesis, but augmentation of the immune system would protect from infections and leukemic relapse.
