This invention is useful for treatment of diabetes using encapsulated cells. The invention consists of one independent claim that appears to cover a method for treating diabetes by administration of encapsulated cells that have a specific set of biological and physical properties. The cells appear to be a type of intermediatery cell, or a progenitor cell that is capable of expansion.
