Although liver failure is treated on an experimental basis with the use of bone marrow stem cells, not too many people are aware of the preclinical evidence supporting such an approach. The video describes the use of bone marrow stem cells, as well as cord blood stem cells, for the differentiation into hepatic-like cells after administration into recipients with carbon tetrachloride induced liver failure.
