This video describes the scientific rationale for utilization of stem cells to treat cerebral palsy. Few people know that cerebral palsy was treated by Dr. Kurtzburg from Duke using cord blood stem cells. This is described in the video.

I am so sick of hearing about unpublished case studies...why is it that everyone has a story but none of this is ever published? This is not an "offshore" phenomena since even the "Great" Kurtzburg didn't publish about that kid she treated. What a disgrace. If the kid really got better and wasnt a ploy for politicians...then why the hell has no one published it.

If indeed you have case reports from even 1 patient...even 1 patient.. not hundreds...but 1 that had objective CP and then got better why dont you publish it???

There are soooo many scientists who would love to work with you to do this....

You saw that Dr Ghen from belize or whereever published his offshore ALS work? This is what needs to be done...it helps your business and helps real scientists...

Potential clinical applications using stem cells derived from human umbilical cord blood.Ghen MJ, Roshan R, Roshan RO, Blyweiss DJ, Corso N, Khalili B, Zenga WT.

There is an abundance of clinical applications using human umbilical cord blood (HUCB) as a source for stem cell populations. Other than haematopoietic progenitors, there are mesenchymal, endothelial stem cells and neuronal precursors, in varying quantities, that are found in human umbilical cord blood. These may be useful in diseases such as immune deficiency and autoimmune disorders. Considering issues of safety, availability, transplant methodology, rejection and side effects, it is contended that a therapeutic stem cell transplant, utilizing stem cells from HUCB, provides a reliable repository of early precursor cells that can be useful in a great number of diverse conditions. Drawbacks of relatively smaller quantities of mononucleated cells in one unit of cord blood can be mitigated by in-vitro expansion procedures, improved in-vivo signalling, and augmentation of the cellular milieu, while simultaneously choosing the appropriate transplantation site and technique for introduction of the stem cell graft.

Dr. Steenblock, please inform us as to the difference between umbilical cord stem cells and cord blood stem cells.

In terms of cerebral palsy, the only scientists who have done any legitimate work are the folks at Cellmedicine.

I have spoken with numerous clinics outside the US about cerebral palsy and they are the only ones who demonstrated to me purity of their stem cells, as wells quality control procedures, and how mechanistically they would work.

In terms of treating cerebral palsy, Cellmedicine has the best doctors and scientists, everyone else I would be wary of.

Where are CellMedicine Clinics located? I couldn't find their locations on their website.

Dr Steenblock please provide us with some information regarding your umbilical cord blood stem cell therapy. Why would it work for cerebral palsy? why would the cells not be rejected by the immune system of the recipient.

Cellmedicine wrote scientific papers about this. I have not seen anything from your group.

This is so crazy

Cellmedicine at www.cellmedicine.com has done extensive scientific works and I dont see them throwing down phone numbers on websites that have nothing to do with treating people...who is htis Steenblock? I looked him up and cant find any patent or patent applicaitons? Paul Sanburg is most likely the only person to have a patent on cord blood for cerebral palsy. Dr Sanberg has been doing this stuff for more than a decade and publishing real work, not going off the hope of pateints.

I looked this steemblock stuff...please explain to us how in the world the stem cells could have effects against cancer.

IF this forum has become a place for interactions regarding weird cord blood doctors who imagine they have patents, then i will unsubscribe.

If on the other hand you provide some real discussion, then I welcome the form. It is like when you were covering the work in India and you actually interviewed the guy who published in the Trans Proc. Remember, Trivedi or something like that?

Maybe you should interview this Steenblock, it seems like if anything it will be entertaining.

This is a joke

Steenblock is a joke

I went to his youtube vidoes and they are a joke

I went to pubmed and typed in Steenblock and saw nothin. AND HE HAS THE #$%@ to attack other?

And he self promotes his work (using the word loosely)

You Steenblock are not even a pimple on the butt of Paul Sanberg !!

And as for being the only physician using bone marrow for regeneration...are you kidding? go to www.clinicaltrials.gov and type in bone marrow and see that half the world is using it.

You have no business on this website since you have no interest in stem cells, only scamming people.

I SUPPORT DR STEENBLOCK AND COLLABORATORE DR FRANK MORALES !!

Well I have to strongly argue with you Emi. Dr Steenblock has been pioneering adult stem cell therapy with Dr Frank Morales back when no one else was doing this. Dr Frank Morales under the guidance of Dr Steenblock has now set up shop with Dr Dan Royal and they are actually trying to legalize stem cells in Nevada.

This is pioneering work, more work than anyone on this “STEM CELL PATENTS” site has done or cares about doing.

People on this site are only interested in corporate greed, not in helping people, Drs Morales and Steenblock are a great team that actually help patients. That is why they should be encouraged, not made fun of.l

Who are you Emi? Are you from Mexico? I doubt that you have the understanding to really appreciate what Drs Steenblock and Morales are actually doing.

Ed,

One of the major problems with stem cell therapy (either adult or embrryonic) is "who owns the patents for the cells and the patents for use of the cells". For embryonic stem cells it is very easy answer, i.e., Wi-Cell owns the patents on the embryonic stem cells themselves and Geron Corporation owns the patents for the use of the embryonic stem cells. For adult stem cells, it is more diverse group of players.

In either case, if individual cells are used with known cell surface markers, then the physician/ institution using them has to pay a royalty to the owner of the patent. On the other hand, if a mixture of cells are used, i.e., umbilical cord cells, cells derived from fat, bone marrow-derived cells, etc., without meticulous identification of the particular cells used then the institution using the cells and techniqe usually foregoes paying royalty fees, citing that they did not know which cell, if any produced the desired effect.

For those of you that are wanting the data published. You are asking the physicians using mixtures of stem cells to put their necks on the line for potential lawsuits - payment of overdue royalty fees to the entities that own the patents on the cells or the procedures for their use. Royalty fees are due to the owners once the patent is issued.

Had a neighbor who went through SCC International (web:sccinternational.info) and received a specialty evaluation for their debilitated child. They chose a treatment center in China and the results with their child was astonishing.

Has anybody had any direct experience with stem cell?  I am the mother of a 4yr old near drowning that has undergone 200 hyperbaric dives.  Our next step will be stem cell but I am not sure where yet. I am looking at Mexico and the Dominican Republic.  I thought of China and Germany but the cost is prohibited. I am eager to get any imformation that I can find. God Bless, Kathy
