This video describes a publication that uses "naked" DNA to immunize patients with prostate cancer so as to induce immunity to the antigen PSA. While, T cell mediated immunity was induced, this was primarily in patients treated with higher vaccine doses.
The relevance of this to the stem cell community is that as we start identifying antigens specific to cancer stem cells, it will become important to figure out easy, simple to generate, methods of vaccinating against such antigents, either prophylactically or therapeutically. Social & Bookmarking:
