This is a patent covering an ovarian stem cell that can become either overian epithelial tissue, as well as granulosa tissue. The three independent claims are:
A method of providing a source of immunogen to a heterologous recipient, comprising administering a plurality of ovarian mesothelial cells in an amount effective to induce an immune response in said recipient, wherein said ovarian mesothelial cells have a pluripotent capacity to differentiate into ovary surface epithelial cells or granulosa cells.
A method of generating human ovarian tissue models in non-human mammalian recipients, comprising administering a plurality of human ovarian mesothelial cells into said recipients, wherein said ovarian mesothelial cells are first maintained in basal nutrient and then administered at a location within said recipient, said location being able to support growth and differentiation of said ovarian mesothelial cells, and wherein said ovarian mesothelial cells have a pluripotent capacity to differentiate into ovary surface epithelial cells or granulosa cells.
A method of providing cell therapy to a recipient, comprising administering human ovarian mesothelial cells into said recipients, wherein said ovarian mesothelial cells are first grown in nutrient media and then administered at a location within said recipient, said location being able to support growth and differentiation of said ovarian mesothelial cells, and wherein said ovarian mesothelial cells have a pluripotent capacity to differentiate into ovary surface epithelial cells or granulosa cells.
