This patent teaches how to make stem cells less immunogenic by modification of the human leukocyte antigen content. Specifically the patent has 2 independent claims. The first covers modification of HLA-B and HLA-C, whereas the second covers modification of HLA-DR. Essentially the generation of "universal donor" stem cells can be made in such a manner by making the cells more compatible with the HLA profile of the general population.
