This patent covers the use of human pluripotent granulocyte colony stimulating factor for induction of granulocyte production, as well as for reducing bacterially mediated inflammation.
The use of growth factors such as the one described has expanded in recent years to other types of stem cells besides hematopoietic stem cells. It will be interesting to see first what the new name for the pluripotent granulocyte-CSF is, as well as to see if it has activity on other types of stem cells.
